What is personal development?

Personal development is about improving your own personal awareness and identitybody_mind_spirit by becoming more conscience of your personal power and by developing your talents, gifts, and natural abilities while at the same time creating amends with the limitations of the past. Once your personal potential is accessible to you, through the use of your innate talents, gifts, and natural abilities, you are in a position to improve the standard of your life as new dreams and aspirations are given birth through your personal power. When awakening one’s personal power, the natural pathway within personal development would be to improve self-awareness, your own personal self-knowledge, your own innovative potential, your general wellness, improving the quality of your life and lifestyle, and your business; plus, interpersonal relationships, and you’re financial wealth. Personal development is an arena of practice and research in which an individual can easily get involved with others or it can be done independently. Regardless of how it’s done, the task is always to develop and support one’s personal growth and the process is an ongoing, life-long adventure.

Questions and Answers

Is it okay to be obsessed with personal development booksp? Thanks in advance.

Personal development is a hobby that you should have that manifests itself into all of your time. If you don’t live by what you read then you’re just being introverted inside of books and not expelling or practicing any of it.I don’t think it’s good to think you’re obsessed with anything because there is a lot of important things you could be doing with your time. It’s great to have a hobby and to self better yourself but if all you do is read and imagine things on a page then it sounds like escapism to me rather than reading reality you’re simply readings lots of fiction. Fiction because none of it really applies to your life and none of it is existent in your life.Too much escapism isn’t good. What is personal development?

Personal development is being committed to lifelong learning…
To broaden our professional roles and responsibilities to be more effective while there is a profound change in the society. It includes training which helps us what to do what is necessary in an effective way…
Are you working for money or personal development?I define personal development in this case when the work you do is something that helps you grow as a professional and individual.
Working for money is normally when someone works something that is not necessary what you like but helps you to get your economic goals.

I guess I’ve been lucky , I started by going for the personal development thing, college apprenticeship etc etc. Then started work in my chosen field, still with my eye on personal development mainly via experience related to my job. I found myself going up the ladder, then one day I saw the light, I had a nice office , I was now a manager, good salary, pension deal etc all the perks.
I was looking at the array of pencils I had just sharpened, great days work!!!
I then thought this isn’t what I want to be doing.I was getting good money in the UK for what?
I had been reading a UK National newspaper, Engineering jobs available , I went back to it.
I got an interview, I got the job with an American company working in Saudi , 3 times the salary I was on at the time, no tax, free accommodations, free food, free trips home on leave to the UK!
So I had money and doing the job I wanted, I never looked back.
Now retired and I dont regret giving up this personal development thing, In fact I dont regret any part of my working life.
I wish I had a formula to share with other folk, but I don’t . Just go with whatever makes you happy , by all means suffer a bit at first get your qualifications and experience , choose your field of work with a great deal of thought , and good luck to you all.

  1. First off I want tto say excellent blog! I had a quick
question in which I’d like to askk if you don’t
mind. I was cuirious to fond oout how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing.
I’ve had difficulty clearinng my mind in getting my ideas out.
I do take pleasure inn writing however it just seems like the first 10 to
15 minutes tend to be lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips?
    Appreciate it!

    • Hey JK Ltd.,

Thanks for visiting my site and for taking the time to write something. The question that you raise is an interesting one. to a large extent, I think that writing well is just plain hard work. Like most things that anyone does well, you just have to enjoy doing it — to as they say “have a passion”. I also feel that reading a lot is important as-well-as engaging in communicating with other people on topics of interest. Then, reflect and when you are inspired to write, let it rip or unfold.

I am not a professional writer or anything like that. Nor do I consider myself worthy of giving you advice. I simply shared some of my thoughts on you question. You may find it to be worth it to write in your on blog about your experiences with learning about writing — your challenges as-well-as your successes. You may find that some others will benefit from that.

      Take care,

      Charles

    • Hello Ms. C,

Thank you for visiting our blog and for taking time to leave a comment. I am afraid that I cannot say that I am smart enough to know exactly what your comment means or what it may be referring to specifically. But, it seems that it may be related to a trust issue. If I am thinking in the right direction about your comment I am caused to reflect upon how I usually deal with matters of trust when there is an issue. What I usually do is put the responsibility of settling the issue onto myself because I am the only person or thing that I can control. This way I do not allow anyone or anything to degrade my trust in my own judgement or my worthiness of being trusted and I do my best to hold myself accountable. I also accept that I am not perfect, but, I do my best.
