  1. 2:12 To all you people hearing it wrong, he said “Kid, we’ve got to get to
a tree, this calls for some big scratchin’.” and NOT “sh**” or “d***” or
anything else you think you heard. -_- Sheesh…

  2. My bio notes mentioned a prickly pear so I’m here.

Oh yeah, and his whole back scratch thing? That’s my dad. He will go to a
protruding wall corner and move his back from side to side to get the area
between his shoulder blades. It’s so weird.

  3. I love this clip of the 1967 animated Disney classic The Jungle Book where
Baloo the Bear teaches Mowgli The Bare Necessities. It’ll be cool this song
will be reused in the Live action/CGI animated remake of The Jungle Book
which will come out in April 2016 and the song The Bare Necessities will be
    sung by Bill Murray.

  4. Don’t look at the other comments if you don’t want your childhood ruined.

Vote this up to the top so people will look no further.

  5. I always thought it was clever because it was called the bear necessities
because, well y’know, he’s a bear but no it really is just bare
    necessities. oh okay, that’s cool.

  7. This kinda makes me think of Life of Pie. Was this kid really hanging out
with talking animals or are they based on humans he actually met in the
    jungle.

  8. Interesting all the ways in this song they showed that, although Baloo
cares a lot, he’s very irresponsible (also shown in his rescue of Mowgli
from the monkeys where his carelessness screws up the plan several times
and gets Bagheera injured several times), making it all the more effective
when despite this, he loves Mowgli enough to take on a Tiger (a Tiger
who could neutralize Kaa, who’d been shown to be able to pwn Bagheera who
was himself at least as powerful as Baloo) to keep Mowgli alive.

  9. This song + Disney is the best vitamin to start the day. I go back to it
frequently…and it peps me up indeed.

  10. I thought the part where he’s scratching his back on stuff was the funniest
thing in the world as a kid

  11. 2:12, I’m sure Baloo says “Kid, we’ve gotta get to a tree”.
But it’s funny because I hear “Sh*t, we’ve gotta get to a tree.”
