The woman who didn’t know she was blind

Up to her 17th birthday, Caroline Casey had NO IDEA she was legally blind.

She wanted the same things as other kids her age.

She dreamt of being a biker. A cowgirl. She wanted to be Mowgli from the Jungle Book.

And when she was 17, she was fully convinced that just like everyone else, she could get her driver’s license.

Caroline lived with an extraordinary degree of self-belief.

And when she finally realized the truth, it was this self-belief that helped her accomplish the *impossible*.

Set aside 15 minutes and watch this TED Talks video. Because in it is one of the most inspiring and affecting lessons you’ll ever learn:

Share your thoughts and inspire the Silva Community. What did you think of Caroline’s story? And what would YOU accomplish if, just like her, you could liberate yourself from fear and self-doubt?
