  1. The girl in pink has an anterior tilt which means her hips are tilted
    forward – it gives an arch in the back and also causes the belly to
    protrude forward slightly, like a bulge. If you want to check if you have
    it, put your bum and shoulders back to a wall and if you can fit your hand
    in between the wall and your lower back that’s fine, if you can put a
    couple of books, then it’s not good. That’s why her back is creating that
    arch.

  2. I think the girl in the blue t-shirt is doing the exercise better, because
    she is tighting up her stomach, and she doesn’t have an arch in her lower
    back.

  3. I always thought that I’m doing my plank wrong because I got my bum
    sticking out like yours. I thought you need to “tuck it in” but I couldn’t
    last in this position for long.. The other girl in blue doesn’t have such
    curve, which one is the proper plank then? confusing..

  4. Sometimes when I try doing planks, my lower abdomen hurts afterward, almost
    like menstrual cramps. What am I doing wrong? I am trying to flex my upper
    abdominal muscles but can sometimes feel my lower muscles taking the brunt.

  5. She has a bit too much of an anterior tilt which is causing extension of
    her lumbar spine. If you are experiencing some low back pain or soreness
    during a plank it’s because you’re having too much of a dip like the lady
    in the video. Your back should be flat like a table top. Learn to control
    your pelvis to be able to properly tilt it to a neutral spine to aid you
    perform a proper plank! 

  6. It’s unfortunate that women can’t do videos of themselves trying to be fit
    and strong without a bunch of lurkers making comments about them being
    MILFs and whatever. They’re trying to educate us, not turn us on. Give them
    some respect.
